how I want s9 to go:
Sam dies while trying to complete the third trial. Dean tries to escape the loss by turning himself cold and emotionless, a soldier yet again.
Fallen!Michael has been wandering the earth looking for a vessel when he stumbles upon the heartbroken shell of Dean Winchester. Dean accepts when Michael explains the loss of his younger brother, all those years ago.
Sam emerges from Hell to make his second appearance as the vessel for the greatest fallen angel of all - Lucifer.
